Complete assay development includes any laboratory work from purification of an antigen to the finished analytical test.
The following steps can be carried out separately or in combination:

Purification of protein antigens from biological fluids or tissues. Synthesis and purification of components for immunoassays or for immunohistochemistry.

Characterization and validation of an existing test for a different animal species.

Development of an enzyme immunoassay from existing or available components (antiserum and/or antigen).

Antiserum production, antibody characterization and titer determination for an existing or available antigen.

Conversion of an existing radioimmunoassay (RIA) into an enzyme immunoassay (EIA, ELISA).
